Area Contest 2019

Another podium finish for the band and Dr David Thornton, (MD for
Brighouse & Rastrick, Grimethorpe Colliery), who lead the band at
this contest playing the fine composition 'Seascapes' by Ray

The band enjoyed working with David who gave insight in to the
preparation and focus to contests from his many years as a player
and MD of a top flight brass band.

Seascapes was the Test Piece for the 1988 National Finals at the
Royal Albert Hall and was the first time Redbridge Brass qualified
the finals conducted then by Graham Chambers.  The band still has
four players who were in the band all those years ago!

Making a splash down at Butlins 2019

The band returns from a weekend contesting at
Skegness under MD Richard Ward. With the theme of
the anniversary of the Apollo moon landings, the band
gave some fine performances alongside archive footage
of the momentous events.  The percussion team
(pictured) produced epic sounds for the rocket launch
sequences, plus Indian tabla beat's for the 1960's vibe
piece 'East Meets West' and of course big band swing
for Fly Me to the Moon.

Royal Albert Hall and was the first time Redbridge Brass qualified
